Shirley Anne Thurby (Page)
Shirley Anne (Page) Thurby, 82, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at home. She was born September 16, 1935, in Perryopolis, PA, a daughter of the late Emory and Cecelia Page.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tera Lynn Antoon, and several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph E. Thurby, Sr., their children, Terri Lynne Burnsworth and husband Bob; Joseph E. Thurby, Jr. and wife Karen; Laurey Page Micarelli and husband Carl, all of Uniontown, Pa; grandchildren, Ashley Paige Kolesar and husband Rich, Kaitlyn Nicole Thurby, John Michael Antoon, all of Uniontown, Pa., and Kirby Paul Manown, III. of Belle Vernon, Pa.; a sister, Carol Shoaf of Perryopolis, Pa., many nieces and nephews, and her special “grand dogs”.

Shirley, like sunshine, had a warm nature and unforgettable smile; the kind that makes everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed life, adored her husband and family, and loved the Lord. She served on the board that helped build the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Cherry Tree Lane; and was a member and Chairman of the Christian Women’s Club. She was an avid gardener, member of the Garden Club, and was an excellent cook. She loved playing cards with friends at her Friday afternoon card club, and vacations spent with her “Golden Girls”.
Cherished memories of vacations to the seashore and Elk County at the Thurby Camp, will be remembered and treasured by her loving family, and many friends. She dressed to perfection and sparkled on the inside as well as the outside.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Hour of Service, with Reverend Bob Ellenberger Officiating.
