Vera M. Rogers (Melchi)
Vera M. Rogers, age 100 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
Vera was born on August 29, 1917 in Walnut, IL. She was the last member of her immediate family, and third born of her siblings; preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Mildred (Reed) Melchi, husband of 57 years, Eura E. “Rip” Rogers in 2003, brothers, Milton, Leo, Fred, Elmer, and Arthur Melchi, and sisters, Velva Gunter and Norma Ohlsson.
Vera loved her family and her country. Her values were those that she passed on to her grandsons, who were the absolute light of her life.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Barbara J. Rozgony; grandsons, David Rozgony and wife Nancy of Pasadena, Md., and Michael Rozgony and wife Kristin of Uniontown, Pa., great grandchildren, Micah and Luke Rozgony and Kaelyn and Chase Rozgony; many nieces and nephews; two very special friends who she considered family, Trish Cuppett, husband Don, and their children Courtney, Carrie, and Christie; and Evelyn Mervay.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Monday, November 27, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m; and on Tuesday, November 28, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. the Hour of Service with Pastor Jason Lamer officiating.
Entombment will be private at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
