Obituary for Madeleine Pamela "Maggi" John

Madeleine Pamela "Maggi" John
Madeleine Pamela John now basks in the light of the Lord. She sat down at His side on Saturday, September 9, 2017. “Maggi” joins her parents, Michael and Edith John; sisters Pamela, Loretta, Thelma; and brother Simon Michael. Her surviving sisters, Simone and Andrea, will miss her immensely.

Maggi was born in Uniontown, PA on October 8, 1926. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She loved reading, travelling, vegetable gardening and cooking.

A member of Uniontown High School Class of 1944, her love for learning new things lasted throughout her life. Her career began after high school at the Fayette County Courthouse in the Assessment, Housing Authority and Community Action offices. She also worked for Attorney Anthony Cavalcante, who was also a Pennsylvania State Senator; and for Attorney William Duffield. A loyal and devoted employee, her career was completed in November 2012 after 42 years of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Maggi had a warm and inclusive personality. She loved people, and almost everyone who met her became her friend. Above all else, Maggi had great love and devotion to her family. She showed great pride in her heritage and great respect for her ancestors. She will be missed and remembered by many.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday, September 12, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, and on Wendesday, September 13, until 9 AM, when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
