Obituary for Lawrence Chauncey Thomas

Lawrence Chauncey  Thomas
Lawrence Chauncey Thomas, 74, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017, in the Uniontown Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born October 14, 1942, in Uniontown, a son of the late Lawrence A. and Virginia Dare (Gribble) Thomas.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Hamburg, Germany. Following his time in the Service, Larry worked as a coal miner and was a Union Committee Officer in the local United Mine Workers of America.

Left to cherish his memory, are his children, Larry D. Thomas, Brian Patrick Thomas, and Erin (Thomas) Sepesy and her husband Nate, all of Uniontown; his grandchildren, Ella, Ivy, and Nathan Sepesy, and Adria Thomas; his siblings, Joycelyn (Thomas) Costable and her husband Anielo of Vanderbilt, PA, Dennis Thomas and his wife Helen of Miamisburg, OH, and Kathleen (Thomas) Littleton and her husband Cecil of Tipp City, OH; Joanne Thomas Nicholson; his many friends from the Blue Moon Café in Uniontown; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday, March 1, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, March 2, until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti Officiating.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Amvets General George C. Marshall Post # 103 of Hopwood, PA.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown. PA.
