Betty Lee  Roy (Lindsay)
Betty Lee (Lindsay) Roy, 81, of Jefferson, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Frank W. Roy for 50 years.

Born June 1, 1935, in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lindsay and Irva (Edwards) Lindsay.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Cooke, Jerry Lindsay, and Sharon Mumford.

Betty was a member of the High House Church of God for over 20 years. She was a graduate of Lee College, in Cleveland, TN, and a graduate of the University of Maryland. She worked as an elementary school teacher most of her life before retiring from James Ryder Randall Elementary, Clinton, MD. Betty was a devout Christian; she enjoyed fellowshipping with numerous Bible study and prayer groups. Betty was also a long time Children’s Church and Sunday school teacher at the National Church of God, in Washington, D.C. Above all Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her grandchildren, from the day she met them. She will be sadly missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Frank; her children, Darrell Roy and his wife Cynthia, Kirk Roy and his wife Anna, and Lora Lynn Roy; her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Kirsten, Karina, Caitlin, and Samuel Roy.

The family will receive friends at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Thursday, January 26, from 2-4 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment services will be privately held in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
