Rose M. "Chuch"  Smargie (Kolar)
Rose M. “Chuch” (Kolar) Smargie, 92 of Masontown, Pa., died on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born August 25, 1924 in Gallatin, Pa., daughter of the late Martin and Martha (Malinsky) Kolar.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Pete Smargie in 1967; and siblings, Ann Christoff, Martin Kolar, Betty Barto, and infant brothers, George and Joseph.

Rose was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Masontown High School Class of 1942. For 47 years she worked as an Administrator for Kikta Furniture Store of Masontown, PA. She loved taking care of her home and family, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann Tinkey of Cranberry, Pa., two grandsons, Matthew Tinkey, and Mark Tinkey, a great grandchild, Alivia Tinkey; two brothers, Carl J. Kolar of Masontown, Pa., and John A. Kolar and wife Carole of Uniontown, sister-in-law, Ann Kolar of Connellsville, Pa. and brother-in-law, Henry Barto of Toronto, OH, many loving nieces and nephews and their families, and a special cousin, Bill Raho of Uniontown.

The family would like to thank her devoted caregiver, Lisa Jones, and also the staff of the Uniontown Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.

Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, Pa., on Monday, January 9 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, January 10, until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
