Mary M. Sassak (Rafay)
Mary M. (Rafay) Sassak, 99, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, in Sinclair Personal Care Home, Smock, PA. She was born May 5, 1917, in Amend, PA, a daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Habricek) Rafay.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew F. Sassak; her daughter, Margaret Sassak; her sisters and brothers, Anna Marek, Pauline Marcus, Steve Rafay, and John Rafay.
Mary was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA.
Left to cherish her memory, are her children, William E. Sassak and his wife Jean of Lovettsville, VA, and James A. Sassak of Beckley, WV; her grandchildren, Curt Sassak, of TX, and Erik Sassak and his wife Sarah of Round Hill, VA; and her great grandson, Thomas Sassak.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, January 9, from 1-3 p.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father James W. Clark Officiating.
Interment will be privately held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
