Viola P ""Vi"" Bartock (Carbonara)
Viola “Vi” (Carbonara) Bartock, 92 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday December 21, 2016, while in Golden Living Center.
She was born on March 17, 1924 in Connellsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Saverese) Carbonara.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Joseph F. Bartock Sr., two brothers, Donald Carbonara, Alfred Carbonara, three sisters, Catherine Quinn, Josephine Riordan and Marie Pavlosky.
She was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, St Mary Christian Mothers, a 1942 graduate of Connellsville Area High School and later worked at the Anchor Hocking Cap Plant.
Viola married the love of her life Joseph F. Bartock Sr., on October 29, 1949. In her free time she enjoyed duckpin bowling, bingo and attended Masontown Senior Center, most of all, Viola enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother, her family was her greatest treasure.
She is survived by her children, Joseph F. Bartock Jr., and wife Linda of Masontown, Rose Ann Sloboda and her husband John of Uniontown, Patricia Thomas and husband Paul of Masontown, Frederick (Buzzy) Bartock and wife Brenda of Smithfield, Caroline Heavener and husband Rennie of Uniontown, Michael Bartock and wife Susan of Smithfield, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, three brothers Anthony Carbonara, Eugene Carbonara, Richard Carbonara and wife Rose all of Connellsville, two sisters, Louise Mecco and husband Leonard of Uniontown, Carmalee Porter and husband David of Connellsville, brothers -in- law James Quinn of Coraopolis, Anthony Bartock of Uniontown and sister-in-law Anna Kerr of Carmichaels and also many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, and Today December 22, 2016 from 2-8 p.m., and on Friday December 23, 2016 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m., followed by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers Prayer Service.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
