Margaret "Peg" Benya (Roebuck)
Margaret “Peg” (Roebuck) Benya, 101 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully at her home with her loving son Adam and his fiancée Bonnie by her side on Sunday, November 6, 2016.
She was born on November 17, 1914 in Youngstown, Pa., the youngest daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Demchuk) Roebuck, Peg was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Adam “Abe” Benya on July 8, 1974 and her 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
“Peg” was a member of St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary Post #47 of Uniontown and The AMVETS Auxiliary Post#103 of Hopwood.
Peg leaves to cherish her memory her son Adam “Junior” Benya of Uniontown and his fiancée Bonnie Henry of Connellsville, a special nephew Jack Bozurick and his companion Nancy Kraynak of Monroeville and other numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday November 9, 2016 from 1-8 p.m. and on Thursday November 10, 2016 until 10 a.m. when a blessing service will be held with Father James D. Tringhese and Pastor Mike.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA
A very special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedysis Hospice Care, especially Amanda, Lisa, Marsha, Betty and Pastor Mike for their compassionate care of Peg over the past 34 months.
AMVETS Post#103 Auxiliary will conduct a memorial ceremony today at 6 p.m.
