Obituary for Dwain Bernard "Monty" Monahan

Dwain Bernerd “Monty”Monahan, 88, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the Golden Living Center, Uniontown, PA. He was born October 20, 1927, in Uniontown, PA, son of the late Hugh Lawrence and Amelia Beatrice (Kuth) Monahan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kuth, Francis, Hugh, and John (Jack) Monahan; and his sisters, Dorothy Monahan Cornish, and Thelma Mary Monahan.

Dwain was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. During his time in the service he received several awards which include: WWII Victory Medal, Army Accommodation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Dwain was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the American Legion Post 51 and Am-Vets Post 103.

Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Dandrea Monahan, his daughters, Lisa of Henderson, NV and Lesley Monahan of Uniontown, PA; grandchildren, Justine Baptiste and Duane Baptiste; sisters, Beatrice Robidoux and Catherine Thomas both of OH; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
